Mark Kozelek(ギターヴォーカル)、Geoff Stanfield (ベース、Black Lab),Anthony Koutsos (ドラム、Red House Painters)という編成で作られたさ今作、ゲストとしてBen Gibbard(Death Cab For Cutie)、Will Oldham(Bonnie 'Prince' Billy、Eric Pollard(Retribution Gospel Choir)がゲストヴォーカルとして参加。
ジャングリーで独特の間を持つシンプルなギター、なだらかなアルペジオ、熱を帯びた歪んだディストーションギターも、Mark Kozelekのオリジナルな唄、素晴らしいアルバムです。
Disc-1に『April』の全11曲を、Disc-2に『April』収録曲のヴァージョン違いを収録した4曲入りCDの2枚組。
